It was through the storytelling of Indian Classical dance that she discovered her passion for dance, acting, and the stage. She trained in Bharat Natyam and Kuchipudi for over ten years before embarking on training in other forms of dance, including hip-hop and bhangra.
Anjali has choreographed and danced for countless live shows. She started a fusion dance company in Boston before moving to Mumbai, where she choreographed for music videos and danced and/or assisted in feature film dance sequences.
Her choreography blends various styles of movement, including her varied training ranging from Feldenkrais to Kalari.
She actively combines her passion for the arts with community organizing/social awareness. In 2012, she orchestrated a nationwide dance flash mob simultaneously across 20 U.S. cities to encourage youth to vote. In 2017, she attended a prestigious artist residency curated by the US Consulate in Mumbai to promote artistic collaborations towards women’s empowerment.
Anjali has performed her spoken word and choreography at international women’s day events and to promote awareness on domestic violence and mental health issues. She believes strongly in using the Arts to advance social causes and bring together communities.
